The Japanese Garden in the Fabyan Forest Preserve, on the Fox River between Batavia and Geneva, Illinois. This recently-restored garden was created by a Japanese landscape architect for Col. George Fabyan prior to 1914. Designed for quiet meditation the garden contains two connecting pools, a large cement lantern, two arched bridges, and a Japanese tea house.

Not bad, but it still needs work, and to lose that ugly concrete (cement, maybe, still ugly) lantern.
