Dear Peter,

It's a nice square, but "quiet reflection" is hard, considering that it's at the intersection of two very busy streets, Schaumburg & Roselle roads.

Gather the Bones

CARD IMAGE:

San Fernando Cathedral
Original Parish Church of San Antonio

"The old cathedral" has watched over the city through 200 years if struggle and progress. During the siege of the Alamo it was held by Santa Anna, and his flag flew from its towers. From these same towers had flown Texas flags of Victory a short time before. Tradition says that soon after the fall of the Alamo, an influential Mexican whose sympathies were with the Texans, gathered together what bones of the heroes he could find, and buried them secretly under the altar of San Fernando. The church has been kept in perfect repair and is in daily constant use.

Tyger Tyger, Burning Bright

CARD IMAGE:

The Tyger

Tyger Tyger, burning bright,
In the forests of the night;
What immortal hand or eye,
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies.
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand, dare seize the fire?

And what shoulder, & what art,
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand? & what dread feet?

What the hammer? what the chain,
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp,
Dare its deadly terrors clasp!

When the stars threw down their spears
And water'd heaven with their tears:
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the Lamb make thee?

Tyger Tyger burning bright,
In the forests of the night:
What immortal hand or eye,
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?
